Rite of Christian Initiation of Young People (rCIyp)12 – 15 Years
Resources for the 12-15 age group incorporate the Crossroads materials produced by the Archdiocese of Brisbane.. The sessions are designed for use in schools, with groups meeting at the start or end of the day when time is limited.
For the Inquiry Stage additional Come and See,Archdiocese of Perth, materials build on the content of the Crossroads sessions increasing the time length to an hour and a half. A number of additional Come and Seeresources have also been created for the second and third stages of the journey.
The final, Mystagogia, stage includes two Crossroads sessions plus six Come and See steps.
Either resource can used independently, or combined, as catechists see fit.
Outlining the philosophy and rationale of Come and See along with key principles for working with young people the Introduction and Framework is the starting point for Catechists who wish to explore the resource or sample some of the materials. The Introductory information is common across three age groups.
The framework outline, which details the scope and sequence of the Come and See content, is specific to each age group. Colour coding helps to differentiate the four stages of the rCIyp journey both within the Framework and the Catechist Materials.
